CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON ROUND1 AT HOLYOKE MALL
Multi-entertainment activity complex offering bowling, an arcade, karaoke, billiards, food & drink to open in 2019
HOLYOKE, MA- Holyoke Mall is pleased to announce that construction has begun on a new-to-market entertainment venue, Round1 Bowling & Amusement. Round1 is a multi-entertainment activity complex that offers bowling, an arcade, karaoke, billiards, food and drinks.
The first Round1 opened in 1980 and has grown to over 100 locations in Japan. In 2010, Round1 opened their first U.S. location in City of Industry, California and is on track to have 32 U.S. locations by early 2019. “We are excited to open in Holyoke Mall. This will be the second location in the state of Massachusetts,” commented Shane Kaji, Senior Vice President, Round1. “We hope to bring an unparalleled family entertainment experience to Western Massachusetts and will strive to provide unforgettable service to all customers.”
Holyoke Mall’s General Manager shared, “We are thrilled to add Round1 to our growing list of entertainment options at Holyoke Mall. Retail as we know it is evolving and we’re looking to grow our “experiential retail” offerings for our guests. Customers will not only be able to shop and have a relaxing dinner together, but they’ll also be able share experiences at our entertainment destinations. This has been very successful at our sister shopping centers DestinyUSA, Walden Galleria and Palisades Center in NY.”
Round1 will be opening in 2019 on the lower level above Café Square in a 51,642 square foot space and will also be accessible from stairs that will be located on the upper level near Billy Beez. The Holyoke Round1 will have 16 lanes and depending on the time of year, will typically employ 50-70 people.
In addition, Holyoke Mall recently announced that Flight Fit N Fun, a 20,000 square foot indoor adventure park will be opening soon on the lower level near Macy’s.
