How Retailers at Holyoke Mall Are Contributing to A More Sustainable Future  

 

HOLYOKE, MA- Holyoke Mall is proud to support the environmental efforts put forth by retailers in the shopping center in order to reduce waste and create more a sustainable future. Through various trade-in and recycling programs, retailers are reducing their environmental imprint and contributing to a better tomorrow.

Apple- Apple encourages shoppers to trade in their old devices for a credit towards their next purchase or an Apple Store gift card to use at any time. If the device isn’t eligible for credit, they will recycle it for free no matter the condition.

Aerie- This month. Shoppers are encouraged to bring in a bra (any brand or style) to Aerie for their recycling program to benefit Free The Girls, an organization dedicated to ending human trafficking. After donating, shoppers will receive 15% off their next bra purchase. This program runs several times a year.

 

Bare Minerals- Their Give Back Get Back Recycling Program encourages shoppers to return empty makeup containers for recycling in exchange for points towards a future purchase. They accept all beauty brands.

 

Best Buy- Best Buy is the largest retail recycler of used electronics and appliances. They accept a variety of used electronic devices regardless of where it was purchased, how old it is, or who made it. Additionally, Best Buy offers a trade-in program for electronic devices. After finding your items value using their trade-in estimator, receive a Best Buy gift card for a future purchase.

DSW- DSW VIP members can donate shoes and Rewards to those in need through Soles4Souls and Be Strong. Donations help keep shoes out of landfills and create better opportunities for kids and families.

H&M- Drop your bag of unwanted clothing in the recycling box at your local store. All textiles are welcome – any brand, any condition. The textiles are then sent to the nearest recycling plant, where they’re sorted by hand. For every bag of textiles you drop off, you’ll receive a discount card for 15% off your next in-store purchase.

 

Origins- Located in Macy’s, Origins accepts product packaging from any brand in its stores and was one of the first beauty companies to create a recycling program for cosmetics packaging in 2009.

MAC- The cosmetic brand’s Back-To-Mac program allows customers to receive a free lipstick of their choice after returning six primary packaging containers to the brand’s counter located in Macy’s.
