American Red Cross Blood Drive: On Friday, May 24th, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the America Red Cross will host a blood drive on the Lower Level near Macy’s. According to their website, every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. “Whether a patient receives whole blood, red cells, platelets or plasma, this lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation.”
Poppy Drive: On Saturday, May 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., American Legion Post 2666 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3104 will host a poppy drive to honor and remember American veterans. Every year, millions of red paper poppies are handmade by veterans during their therapeutic rehabilitation and symbolize the sacrifice our veterans have made for our country. Donations collected during the event will benefit disabled and hospitalized veterans, and active-duty service members and their families.
