About Our Community
Holyoke Mall at Ingleside finds itself at the "crossroads of New England," nestled in the heart of a college-rich region in Western Massachusetts. Headlined by UMass Amherst, the flagship institution in the state system, these schools have driven the economy of the area for years and have created a stable economic base which has allowed the region to thrive. Education is such a pivotal portion of the development of the Pioneer Valley that the Hartford-Springfield region has been termed the "knowledge corridor," with the highest concentration of professional workers in the United States.

However, education is far from the only reason that people visit Western Massachusetts. Tourists have flocked for years to experience the colonial charm of the region and take advantage of the various outdoor opportunities available, including superior ski resorts, championship golf courses, hiking, hunting, and water sports. Also, the Pioneer Valley is full of terrific historical sites and art museums catering to all sorts of interests, and there are always world-class shows to be seen at some of the various performing arts venues clustered throughout the region. Specifically, the Springfield Symphony, City Stage, the Mass Mutual Convention and Civic Center, and the Quadrangle Museums offer a variety of cultural exhibits that will appeal to a wide range of tastes. Also, the new Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory, and The Big E - New England's Great State Fair which hosts over 1 million visitors a year - continually attract tourists to the region. Other nearby attractions include the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Six Flags New England, and the Springfield Flacons hockey team.

Whatever your passion, the Pioneer Valley is sure to offer you an experience you will never forget.
